Private Mailbox Rental
A real street address — not a P.O. Box — with package receiving, mail forwarding, and 24/7 security.
Private Mail Box rates
A small or large Private Mail Box is a physical box in the mail room. Counter service is a street address with mail held for you at the counter — there isn’t a keyed box on the wall.
| Term | Small box, 3.5″ × 4.5″ | Large box, 5.5″ × 5.5″ | Counter service |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3 months | $55.00 | $69.00 | $52.00 |
| 6 months | $93.00 | $120.00 | $93.00 |
| 12 months | $184.40 | $219.50 | $184.40 |
There is a one-time $20.00 setup fee for each adult on the box.
A private mailbox at Valley Mail gives you a real Duvall street address, which looks more professional than a P.O. Box and is easier for customers to find. It’s a favorite of home-based businesses, frequent travelers, and anyone who wants mail kept safe until they’re ready for it.
Choose a small box, a large box, or counter service. The USPS identification steps are listed below. Call 425.788.7441 to reserve a number — we often have boxes available.
We accept packages and mail from the Post Office, UPS, FedEx, DHL, Amazon, and other couriers — we sign for deliveries and hold them until you pick up. Call ahead for a free mail check, or get email and text notifications when something arrives.
The mail room is secured around the clock. We can forward mail overnight, weekly, monthly, or on demand. Privacy, a permanent address if you move often, and a clean split between business and personal mail are all part of the service.
- Street address, not a P.O. Box
- Free package receiving from every carrier
- Email & text when mail arrives
- Forwarding for travelers
Opening a box
The Postal Service asks every private mailbox center to keep the same records. We’ll help you through it at the counter. These steps are a USPS requirement, not an extra rule of ours.
- Two forms of identification for each adult who will receive mail at the box. One needs to be a current photo ID. The second needs to show your home address.
- Each adult signs USPS Form 1583, the postal application to receive mail through the Private Mail Box.
- If the box is for a business, the person who signs needs to be an officer of the company.
- An email address and a phone number.
- A short walk-through of how to address mail and packages for the box, and how to file a change of address with your current post office if you need one.
USPS requires a current home address on file. If you’re in the middle of a move, just send us the new address once you arrive so the record stays up to date.
Identification USPS accepts
Please bring both IDs when you come in. We’re glad to look them over with you. The photo ID needs a photograph and an expiration date. The second ID needs to match your home address.
Photo ID
- U.S. state, territory, or tribal driver’s or non-driver’s ID card
- Passport
- U.S. Access card
- U.S. permanent resident card
- Certificate of Naturalization
- Uniformed Service ID
- U.S. university ID card
- NEXUS card
- Matricula Consular
Second ID
- U.S. state, territory, or tribal driver’s or non-driver’s ID, if it wasn’t already used as the photo ID
- Current lease
- Home or vehicle insurance policy
- Mortgage or deed of trust
- Vehicle registration card
- Voter registration card that shows your current address
Mail can’t be delivered to the box until we can show USPS that the records are complete. That’s a postal requirement. Every name on the box follows the same rule: anyone 18 or older provides ID and signs their own Form 1583, in person. Mail-forwarding customers are the exception and don’t have to sign at the counter. Once each name is on file, mail for those names can be delivered.
